Bill was having an ordinary and quiet afternoon in his Columbus, Ohio home. That was, until he took what he thought was going to be a typical trip to the bathroom.
“I flushed my toilet, and realized it wasn’t filling back up,” Bill recalled. “Then, when I went to wash my hands, I was only getting dribbles of water. That’s when I realized I had a real issue.”
Bill and his wife’s home is in a wooded area, so even before they knew they had a problem, they already knew that making potential repairs to their water or sewer lines was going to be something that they didn’t want to deal with on their own. That’s why they originally became HomeServe customers nearly a decade ago, enrolling in several repair plans.
After calling HomeServe and explaining the situation, Quality Drain Solutions, a local and reliable business the company partners with for repairs, was dispatched to Bill’s home. Given the wooded terrain of the home’s property, it was important that the Quality Drain Solutions team came prepared with all the equipment they’d need to get the job done. As they got to work to identify the problem, not only did they find a major leak in the water line, but they also found several areas that needed to be completely replaced.
“It was ultimately decided that the entire water line needed to be replaced, which we were thrilled to hear,” said Bill. “Our home had been without water since the discovery of the problem, so we were eager to get it fixed for good.”
"The savings on this job came out to a lot of money – and obviously, we’re really happy for that,” said Bill. “Overall, my experience had a great resolution for us."
By the time Quality Drain Solutions completed the repair, they had replaced over 200 feet of water line. Because Bill and his wife have a HomeServe plan that covers this type of repair, they saved a whopping $10,000. On top of that, they also didn’t have to find a contractor on their own or worry about how long it was going to get their waiter flowing again.
Bill first heard of HomeServe nearly a decade ago when he was having his sewer line repaired. His sewer line was clogged, and he didn’t have any type of coverage. He hired a contractor who came to snake the line, and while there, the contractor told him about HomeServe. It’s safe to say that, after fast-forwarding a few years, Bill was more grateful for that conversation than he could have imagined.
“The savings on this job came out to a lot of money – and obviously, we’re really happy for that,” said Bill. “Overall, my experience had a great resolution for us.”
